How to Choose New Lights for Your Bedroom

How to Choose New Lights for Your Bedroom

You began doing renovations on your home three months ago and you can finally see the end. Every part of your home you wanted to be remolded, outside and in, is nearly complete. Now there’s just one more room for you to finish: your bedroom.

Let’s get you prepared to decide on your bedroom lighting fixtures!

Ceiling Fixtures

Ceiling fixtures are standard in every home. The type you choose to use for your ceiling lighting is up to you.

There are three main types of ceiling fixtures to choose from:

●        Recessed lighting

●        Chandeliers

●        Ceiling fans

Recessed lighting is being subtle with style. These types of lights are installed to be flush with the ceiling and not hanging below it. If installed properly, you’ll be able to light up your entire bedroom and not just the middle of it. Recessed lighting is also quite customizable, so if you want overhead lighting over your bed for when you read, this can prove to be a good option!

The chandelier is the bell of the ball when it comes to custom lighting installation in your bedroom. A beautiful chandelier can make quite a statement, but it may be cumbersome in an intimate bedroom setting.

Ceiling fans are a two-in-one powerhouse. When you install ceiling fans, you don’t just get adequate lighting, you also get air circulation for your entire bedroom! So if you’re someone who likes constant airflow when you’re sleeping or reading. Consider a ceiling fan installation!

Lamps & Wall Lights

Lamps and other wall lighting fixtures are a great way to add lighting in specific areas of your room. Overhead ambient light is nice for when you’re getting ready to leave the house or doing general cleaning, but it’s not as intimate for activities like reading.

Lamps and wall lights offer a soft, warm glow that’s easy on the eyes. These types of lights are best right before bed, as they offer sufficient light that won’t stimulate your eyes with convenient placement.

Although, for these types of lights, placement might be a problem. Before you decide to install lamps and wall lights, you should make sure you have sufficient outlets on your walls. If you do not, consider contacting a trained electrician for outlet installation.
